Unified cloud authorization thru policy-as-code

  • As the only UX Designer at Styra, I partnered with our CTO, PM and Devs to create designs for new and improved features.

  • Styra are the creators of Open Policy Agent (OPA), a CNCF graduated open source project with over a million downloads a week totaling ~90 million downloads since 2018. 

  • I primarily worked on Styra's Declarative Authorization Service (DAS), a SaaS product aimed at DevOps and SecurityOps teams authoring and managing policies deployed with OPA into Kubernetes, Terraform, Envoy and Custom environments.

  • A 13 month journey from concept through delivery of Policy Builder, a tool that "uplevels" policy authoring for developers writing policies occasionally and less technical users.
